  1. EWF Modern: Review for EWF Modern

Organic modern is the fundamental philosophy that design takes its cue from Nature. The clean lines, soft sensual shapes and tactile treasures of Nature translate into sophisticated furnishings and accessories with organic properties. EWF Modern provides a harmonious blend of the organic modern aesthetic and sustainable processes. In store, you'll find exclusive tables, beds and casegoods crafted from reclaimed salvaged wood and Mahogany, supple leather sectionals, and soft furnishings made of leather, wool, buffalo horn and other organic elements curated from local artisans. Owner Renee Russo introduced her style agenda—a mix of handcrafted Asian antiques and modern western accessories—with the opening of East West Fusion in 2002. The success of that venture gave Renee the confidence to foray to the other side of the design dial and launch EWF Modern in April 2007. Her curatorial efforts showcase pieces that embody her love of the simple, natural and textural.

  5. Debbie Thomas Real Estate: Review for Debbie Thomas Real Estate

Debbie Thomas Real Estate is one of Northwest Portland's leading real estate companies, providing services to principals, tenants, buyers and sellers. Debbie is highly dedicated to the creation of the Pearl District neighborhood as well as creating projects that will be appreciated through the march of time. Debbie and her team consider themselves a resource for the neighborhood and the solution for their clients. Nine licensed agents have earned the company a reputation for a wide range of expertise and knowing the Pearl District and Northwest Portland inside out. In addition to commercial sales and leasing activity totaling over a million square feet, Debbie Thomas Real Estate has marketed and sold over 500 units in the Pearl District valued at over $300 million dollars. Debbie Thomas started her downtown Portland-based commercial brokerage company in 1992. Soon after, she saw a greater opportunity just north of Burnside in Portland's Pearl District and in the Northwest neighborhood surrounding NW 23rd Avenue. This put the company on the ground floor at the beginning of the boom in the Pearl. When developer John Carroll determined that residential lofts were the best use for the Chown Pella warehouse redevelopment in 1995, Debbie was pleased to be invited to develop the marketing and sales strategy for the project. Collaboration with John Carroll now includes Mckenzie Lofts (1997), The Gregory Lofts (2000), The Edge Lofts (2004), The Elizabeth (2005), The Eliot Tower (2006) all mixed-use properties. Marketing and sales services are currently underway on another project by developer Jack Onder: The Westerly.

  7. On Deck Sports Bar & Grill: Review for On Deck Sports Bar

The Pearl's premier sports bar has a casual vibe, with enough TV's for everyone in your group. The menu is upscale stadium fare, with 12 beers on tap, premium liquors and a short but nice wine list. While it's fun to watch your favorite team during the big games, it's also a nice place to relax after work. Happy Hour runs from 3:30 - 6:30PM Mon-Fri, and again from 9 PM to close every day, with $2 - $4.50 menu items and beverage specials. On Deck has the largest outdoor dining area in Portland, with a huge 10,000 sq. ft. outdoor deck.

  10. Werner Financial Group: Review for Werner Financial Group

Werner Financial Group focuses on growing and protecting our clients' wealth through financial and estate planning* services. Our clients include companies, individuals and family trusts. We work with clients through all stages of their financial life cycle. In the early stages this often means helping clients accumulate assets through participation in employer sponsored retirement plans. Generally, we provide investment guidance, plan design advice and financial services. Once our clients reach retirement age, our focus shifts to protecting their accumulated assets, and helping ensure that they are appropriately allocated for their retirement income needs. With proper navigation through these stages, clients are then able to utilize the remaining financial resources to plan for their family's legacy through our estate planning and wealth transfer services.
