• Split Dine and Drink: Amazing Wine Selection

  Came across this place before seeing a movie at Bridgeport Village. My friend and I wanted a little nosh and maybe a drink or two, but didn't want to do any of the chains. We stopped in and were delightfully surprised at the food, interior and especially the wine and drink selections. Now I make it a habit to stop by and try some new amazing wine the owner recommends to me. Apparently they offer something like 65 wines by the glass at any time. They have a ton more available by the bottle. They even have an enomatic system to keep the wines fresh for split glasses. They also have a full bar. From first hand experience, I can tell you they come up with some creative combinations behind that bar of theirs. I like to go during lunch or happy hour, because it's a little slower than the big movie rush that happens at night. And, I can order some of their delicious food and save some bucks too. Don't miss out on their sirloin burger. It's one of the best burgers I've had in town. I definitely recommend this place.

• Sock Dreams: How Cool Is This Place?

  A store just dedicated to socks. Yes! Recently located to Sellwood, Sock Dreams is an amazing place to find all types of socks and sock accoutrements. They have so much variety in the store alone. Only their own website www.sockdreams.com has more variety. It really is just fun wandering the tables and checking out the different textures and patterns. And the people working at the shop are so friendly and helpful. I must admit that I was your typical sock buyer. You know, hit the Freddies sale once a year and your stocked up. So, when I wandered into this store it was definitely nice to have people there giving me the low down on how these socks fit and what makes each one different. Apparently, the staff are also the testers, so they know first hand about their products. One warning though, now that I've tried sock dreams, I'm now a borderline sock addict. I'm thought about a support group, but then my feet would be cold, so no.
