Taqueria Los Gorditos: A Taco Truck from Heaven
Perfect tacos, delicious burritos, hot sauce so good you'll want to drink it (I urge you not to attempt this, however) and a good amount of open air/covered seating. Cheap, fresh, fantastic quality - veggie/vegan options abound, this place is the real deal as far as taco trucks go. I'm partial to the carne asada tacos, but have never had anything there that wasn't excellent. Nor have I heard anyone mutter anything but the highest praises for the folks and food at Los Gorditos. It can get busy, and they make everything to order so you might wait 10 minutes or so for a few tacos, but it is worth it.

Peninsula Park & Rose Garden: The OTHER Rose Garden
It's not where the Blazers play, it's not the one in Southwest at Washington Park - this rose garden is in North Portland and it is an absolute gem! A fantastic place to go for a picnic, to take out of towners, or to stop for a rest while on your bike ride or run. The first time I went, I was driving by, didn't realize that the Peninsula Rose Garden even existed, saw the park, pulled over and just wandered around for about an hour looking at the roses and enjoying the fountain. I believe the garden at Peninsula is actually older than the Washington Park garden. It's a must see, off the beaten path destination that most Portlanders probably haven't even had the chance to take it yet. Be sure to take your camera!
