Exciting!
I have only been there so far to visit their bars. Fun place to go and drink and have a good time. Can walk around with your drinks on the property. Many many many bars, (like 7 i think). Totally fun atmosphere!

Cold fries, terrible service
Love the location
Cold fries and terrible service.
At every McMenamins I have ever been at when you sit outside you get terrible service.
Sit inside if you want a drink.
Only go if you dont care how long you will be there to eat.- 0 people found this review helpful

Outside of Portland MUST SEE/DO!
Historic Edgefield is our MUST do everytime we come to PDX! IThis is a huge "complex" of buildings with so much to offer and do!It has a great atmosphere in all of the buildings and secret spots on the grounds that have McMenamins' signature whimsy: historic buildings of all sizes artfully restored and rich with cozy interiors, tranquil ponds and dazzling gardens, great food and drink, plentiful entertainment and surprising recreations. Encompassing a lush 74-acre parcel of farmland at the mouth of the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, Edgefield is a 15-minute car ride to or from the center of downtown
Edgefield building (circa 1911), with over 100 European-style guestrooms and hostel accommodations, is a national historic landmark. Each spacious room is furnished in charming turn-of-the-century decor. There are no televisions or telephones in the rooms, encouraging tranquility as surely as do the rocking chairs on our verandas. In the morning, join us in the Black Rabbit Restaurant for breakfast.
On the grounds, you will find a plethora of diversions. Enjoy our fine-dining restaurant, classic pub, numerous small bars and colorful summertime grill. For liquid refreshment you will enjoy handcrafted ales, wines, spirits and aromatic houseroasted coffees created by McMenamins. Sports lovers will appreciate the golf course and onsite massage. Everyone will love the extensive gardens, onsite glass-blower and pottery maker, extensive artwork everywhere, recent-run movie theater, live music concerts and the Edgefield Gift Shop abundant with treasures from the Pacific Northwest and the world over.
(totally stole this blurb from their website)The best area at Edgefield = The Little Red Shed!

Know before you go
Check the McMenamins website ahead of time for concerts, movie listings, menus and special events.
Parking is occasionally a problem. Be prepared for a hike if you go on a Edgefield Lawn Concert night.

Gorgeous - with Beer!
There's so much to see here. Don't just go for a meal, make a day of it. Play a round at the Pub Course, take a tour of the brewery, go wine tasting in the onsite winery.
And then stay the night in the haunted hotel!
