Night life
This is a really great venue to hear music. The club downstairs has excellent acoustics and as a result, the sound is great. We really enjoyed this club....and the bonus is the upstairs portion which is great restaurant/bar.

Not as good as you hear
The only thing good about this place is the atmosphere. Great people go here, but the food is bland and very traditional, with a limited menu. As for the service, pretty bad. Everytime I'm there, the service is slow and there are always plenty of servers, but they always seem too busy chatting with each other to notice your glass is empty, or you're ready to pay. The bathrooms are a TRIP! Be careful not to walk into the mirrored walls......lawsuit waiting to happen.

Nice Place for Cocktails & Happy Hour
My husband & I always go early on a weekend to unwind in the bar area & snack on the happy hour food menu (cheeseburger and artichoke & spinach dip - mmmmmm!). The atmosphere at that hour is calm - cute, kitschy log cabin decor, lots of intimate areas for small groups. There are outside tables for smokers or those who simply want to sip alfresco. The attached Jupiter Hotel lends itself to the mod, mid-century feel. We've never seen a band there or gone late at night - prolly a completely different experience.

Great Concert Venue
With the great bar upstairs and the small venue - it is pretty close to perfect. I have seen some great bands (Bob Schneider, Matt Costa) and the shows wouldnt have been as good if they were elsewhere!

Great Food and Concert Experience
The best part about Doug Fir....the food! So local and fresh, it was quite a shock from what I was expecting. Normally, concert venues cannot boast about their food, but it is so good! The concert was great as well, intimate and fun. I can't wait to go back!

Doug Fir Rocks - But Don't Forget Breakfast!
Doug Fir is known for the late-night and music scene, but it's also a wicked good place to eat. Breakfast is especially good after a cheap stay at Jupiter Hotel. They use only natural fresh ingredients, and the food is affordable and delicious! Enjoy.

Best Damn Bar in Portland
The Doug Fir is my absolute favorite bar in Portland. It is trendy, odd and just plain fun. The decor is so eclectic and northwest that you just have to love it. The upstairs restaurant/bar is always hopping and is great place to chill with friends. The bathrooms are a trip with floor to ceiling mirrors. Downstairs is a small venue - I saw Sia there this last Spring. The size is great and the drinks are awesome. the blackberry martini is my favorite. The glass moose-head mounted on a fur-wall-papered wall embodies the fun, in-your-face cool of the Doug Fir. It's worth it just to see the design. And of course they offer ultra-cool t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale in the restaurant.

Great music, good drinks
Doug Fir is the place to go if you are looking to enjoy some good music and drinks in a fun, but casual setting. Local bands often play at this venue.
Drinks are a little high-priced, but the service is decent overall and there is a lot of room to sit and talk or dance if you choose. Good outside seating and a variety of patrons.

Doug Fir
The Doug Fir is my favorite music venue in Portland. Great food and happy hour prices in the bar. The decor of the place is awesome, and I love how it's smoke-free. Sound downstairs in also great, and there are plenty of spots to sit/stand and have a good view of the stage.
