Fun spot with killer trivia night

La Merde, the lounge adjacent to Bistro Montage, is a funky, low-key little bar that is pretty much perfect. For starters, Montage's full menu (cajun specialities, great salads, oyster shooters ...) is available in the bar. Then there are the drinks -- a long-enough list of creative and always delicious cocktails, all made with super-fresh ingredients like fresh-squeezed citrus, grated ginger or bergamot-infused vodka (yum!). Bar manager/mixologist/angel Melissa keeps the whole place humming along. The room is just the right size, never gets too loud (well, almost never), and the crowd is eclectic but not obnoxious. I'm there pretty much every Thursday night for ShanRock's Triviology, which is a hoot -- and I can't think of a better place to be my go-to watering hole.
