If you ever need to satisfy your inner masochist, this is the place to do it. The Worst pastrami I've ever had.....full of gristle and served up with some bad ass atitude. My dining companions ordered differently and walked away with the same conclusion. Drinking a can of lye would be more pleasant, and a helluv a lot cheaper.

Down home comfort food was just renamed "Kenny and Zukes". I brought my New York friends to this cozy establishment for one last Portland food hurrah before their departure back east, and the meal certainly did not disappoint.
Meat dishes are more often than not my breakfast of choice, but I decided to change it up and go for the Challah French Toast. I've found the next candidate for my newest breakfast love. Thick and fluffy bread with creamy and delicious maple syrup, this toast won my heart from the get go. I rarely finish French Toast or pancakes, but my meal left me practically licking the plate. Ok, maybe literally.
If you can, make sure to set a reservation and save yourself the 30-45 minute wait. Then again, there are few worse things in the world than missing the opportunity to savor K&Z's.

After a night out on the town last weekend, we moseyed down from our suite at the Mark Spencer Hotel to have a late breakfast at Kenny and Zuke's. Totally yummy!
I ordered a basic breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast, and everything was delicious! The tea water was hot enough, too, which is always an important ingredient of a satisfactory breakfast for me.
It was worth the wait for a table!
