Step one: Create an account

• Go to goseeportland.com.
• Click the "FREE SIGN UP" link near the upper right corner of the home page.
• Fill in the brief form and click "Sign up." Note: You will need to use a working e-mail address to complete the sign-up.
• Once you receive the verification e-mail, click the included link.
• Log in to the site and begin browsing!

Step two: Add tips

• Click on the "DESTINATIONS" tab.
• Click the "ADD A TIP" button in the right hand corner of the page.
• Enter the first few letters of the place you’d like to tip. A search is automatically performed; after a few seconds, search results will appear below the text area.
• If the place you’re reviewing is already listed in GoSeePortland, you’re almost set:
  1. Click the name of the place.
  2. Fill in the review form. You do not need to provide the street address of the location, because it is already in the system.
  3. Click "Save Review" at the bottom of the form – that’s it!
• If your destination is not found, click "New Place" in the search results box. Then follow the same process as above (but you will need to provide the street address).

Step three: Receive tips and recommendations

As soon as you begin rating places and writing tips, Go See Portland can start giving YOU tips based on what you like. When browsing the site, look for the "You Might Like..." heading. If you’re looking at the city or region, you’ll receive tips for all kinds of places – places to eat, things to see, things to do and more. As you look at tips for specific places, the recommendations will get more specific. Meaning, if you are looking at reviews of a restaurant, you’ll see recommendations for other restaurants.

Do even more!

The more you use Go See Portland, the more the site can recommend things you are likely to enjoy. Take a couple of minutes and fill in your interests: Go to the "My Account" tab and click "Interests". Here, you can fill in as little or as much as you like, and Go See Portland will match your interests with the keywords used by other users to describe places. Before you know it, you’ll be enjoying a truly personal, customized Portland experience!
