Health Code Violators, Terrible Service
First, the service is ridiculously bad. Every time I went to this place (which wasn't very many because of these reasons), I would walk in and stand by the counter waiting for 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was even there - with NOBODY else in line, only 2-4 people eating in the lobby, and 2 so-called employees chatting it up behind the counter 3 feet away. They force you to be the a-hole and interrupt their conversation to ask them to do their job.
The real reason for my review is why I will never step foot in this place again. I ordered a pizza by phone and was told to pick it up in about 20 min. So I get there about 25-min later and of course, waited at the counter for several minutes for somebody to ask me if I needed help. When I told them I was there for a pickup order, they hadn't even made it yet and I had to tell them a second time what I wanted because they lost the ticket. So again I waited in the lobby while they made my pizza and several others. As my pizza finished baking, I saw the employee take it from the oven and put it in a box, AND GIVE IT TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER WHO CAME IN AFTER ME. I was baffled and didn't say anything at first because a) maybe we ordered the same pizza, b) maybe I mistook someone's pizza for mine as they went into the oven - either way, I gave them the benefit of the doubt (they're getting paid to do their job, right?). I waited about another 10 minutes and then watched as they placed another pizza in a box, entirely different from anything I ordered, and then handed it to me. I opened the box and told them that this is not what I ordered. They reluctantly checked my new ticket and found that it was NOT my pizza. They then talked amongst themselves for a minute when one of them ran to the phone and made a call. It turns out, they had indeed given my pizza to the other customer (who had arrived early anyways) and I had received hers.
Now, it's already an extremely frustrating situation and a complete waste of time, but here is where it just gets gross. They had called the other customer to let her know she had the wrong pizza (which she had already discovered and was on her way back) and when she arrived, they gave her the pizza they had tried to give to me, and then GAVE ME THE PIZZA SHE HAD ALREADY TAKEN HOME!! They basically said "Here ya go" with no apologies or signs of realizations as to what they just did and what kind of health codes they violated. I took the pizza and threw it in the nearest trash outside and went home. I was absolutely speechless. This place is disgusting in every way. The employees are trashy and I get better service at the DMV. I will be posting this same review on every ratings site I can find and will be contacting the Health Department regarding the issue.
DO NOT EAT HERE!

Management
its unfortunate that the management is more concerned with making a profit by towing people from right outside their store than they are servicing the customer with an amazing product. Buyer beware, don't park anywhere in the parking lot cause management will tow you regardless if you visit their establishment. Very poor business model.

Pasta Gem in the Pearl
I have to agree with the previous poster. This restaurant has great atmosphere, food and service. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday and reservations are recommended. This is also a great spot for watching your European soccer games.

Great Spa, Shady Buisiness Practices
My husband and I went to Terra Del Sol for an 80 minutes couples massage. They had us pre-pay before the massage itself and cut the massage short by 20 minutes. Our appointment started at 4:30pm, we were let go from the massage at 5:30pm We should have been done by 6pm. The difference in cost of this is $100. The receptionist as well as the therapists admitted the fault, and told us they could offer us a gift certificate, not a refund. We did not want a gift certificate and asked for a refund. They asked us to call the next day to resolve the matter. I called the next day and the owner said that the massage was only cut short by 7 minutes and they could not issue any refund. They offered us a free couples massage which we booked, but then had to cancel. When I called back to rebook the free massage, the owner said that we had missed our opportunity and there was nothing they could do for us. She was extremely rude to me, and to my husband and told us she was refusing us service.

Nice neighborhood spot
Great place to stop in and have some Japanese food when you're in North Portland. The sushi is good. If you like inventive rolls, check out the dinner menu at http://ukiyoes.com/dinner-menu
If you (or a friend) are not into sushi, the teriyaki is also excellent. Haven't tried their vegan / vegetarian options but they exist.- 0 people found this review helpful
